Concepts and Functions in the Building Engineering is an international open-access journal (both print and online) published quarterly by the International University of Ahlul Bayt Press since 2024. The journal publishes four issues annually. It reports the latest and most innovative research results across all fields of civil engineering and architecture. The journal aims to build a bridge and integration among the diverse intellectual, methodological, and content areas of architecture within civil engineering and encourages active dialogue among researchers and practitioners in civil engineering. Its goal is to advance theory and practice in civil engineering sciences and technology, innovation, engineering, and management.

The journal welcomes papers that facilitate the exchange of ideas and logical dialogue between practical educators and researchers in civil engineering and architecture worldwide. Its scope includes peer-reviewed original research articles, case and technical reports, review and analytical papers, short communications, and editorials on interdisciplinary research status and practices in civil engineering sciences and technology. High-quality research or review articles addressing any aspect of architecture in civil engineering are encouraged. Articles may be theoretical, numerical, analytical, or experimental. The journal is published in English. Accepted articles are published online immediately and then receive a print version.
